In February, we had the opportunity to support a professional client with the rebranding of their business.
This was a particularly interesting project in that we were able to support with a number of different visual communication solutions. It encompassed a logo redesign, printed collateral, wall plaque as well as wall graphics. I’d like to write about the wall graphics this month. Wall graphics can completely change the feel of a room and they offer such a tremendous opportunity to feature your brand.
In the client’s offices, there were three key walls that provided tremendous opportunity to use different visual elements to connect the story of their brand. On one wall, we used repeating geometric pattern of a triangular shape, reminiscent of their logo. On a second wall, we featured the client’s name and logo — positioned at eye level (approximately 62” above floor level) and off centre, aligned on the left side of the wall, to generate interest. The final wall was located in their conference room — and on this wall, we were able to communicate an important brand message by supersizing the company’s value statement.
We used Avery wall vinyl in this application. It’s a thick film that is tough, flexible and scuff resistant. The film provides 100% opacity; it does a great job of fully covering what is underneath. Our inks landed beautifully on the vinyl and we were able to create great image clarity and the colours popped nicely. It was a relatively quick, easy and clean installation. The installation was all completed within a day. Lining up the panels required two sets of hands. It’s a dry application — so you need to be very careful to layout the panels to align the graphics properly, before you remove the vinyl backer. The team encountered a couple of tricky areas — but with the help of their trusty heat gun, squeegees and razor knife, they prevailed.
Walls can do more than simply hold up a ceiling; they’ll hold up their end of the bargain in terms of branding and design.
